It All Started with a Cup of Coffee | The Story Behind Patriot Pour & The Veterans Club
Written/Narrated by: Ed Bejarana | Published on: November 14, 2025
How a Simple Idea Became a Movement of Brotherhood and Purpose
Movements don’t always begin with fanfare. Sometimes they begin with one person deciding to make space for others. That’s exactly how Patriot Pour—and eventually The Veterans Club—came to life.
A Purposeful Beginning
The group didn’t happen by accident.
Ed Bejarana had a simple but powerful idea: gather veterans and first responders around a table with a cup of coffee and maybe a slice of pie, and give them a place to talk—really talk.
The vision was straightforward:
Share service history. Discuss community challenges. Check in on one another’s lives.
A place where faith, patriotism, and brotherhood could quietly take root.
It wasn’t meant to be complicated. Just intentional.
A Table That Became a Tradition
Week after week, the same idea kept working. Veterans and first responders showed up, not out of obligation, but because something meaningful was happening at that table.
People started opening up.
Stories flowed.
Connections deepened.
And a quiet truth emerged: this is what we’ve been missing.
What began as a simple gathering began to take on a life of its own. Conversations grew deeper. Friendships strengthened. Hope returned.
And Patriot Pour became more than a meeting—it became a lifeline.
Celebrating God, Country, and Service
As the group grew, its identity became unmistakable.
This wasn’t just coffee. This wasn’t just conversation.
It was fellowship rooted in:
- God — honoring faith, moral grounding, and the belief that we are called to lift one another up.
- Country — embracing the values, traditions, and sacrifices that shaped us.
- Service — recognizing the duty we lived and the continued service we can offer our community.
These aren’t slogans. They’re the heartbeat of every gathering.
The Blossoming of a Movement
What started with one man’s idea—and one table—has bloomed into a growing movement across North Idaho and beyond.
The Veterans Club now reaches more people, offers more programs, and supports more families because of what began in the simplest of ways: fellowship over coffee.
No pressure.
No expectations.
Just purpose, presence, and shared identity.
And from that foundation, lives are changing.
