Snow Removal Assistance for Veterans & Seniors

Helping Our Neighbors Through the North Idaho Winter

Winter in North Idaho can be beautiful, but heavy snowfall can also create a serious challenge for veterans and seniors who are unable to safely clear their own driveways.

The Veterans Club Snow Removal Assistance Program helps eligible veterans and seniors in Kootenai County by providing snow removal at their homes at no cost to the recipient.

When assistance is approved, The Veterans Club coordinates and pays local snow removal contractors to perform the work.

Our goal is simple: help veterans and seniors remain safe and accessible in their homes during the winter months.

Who Can Request Assistance?

Snow removal assistance is available to:

  • Veterans living in Kootenai County who need assistance clearing snow from their residence
  • Seniors living in Kootenai County who are unable to safely manage snow removal themselves

Requests are reviewed by The Veterans Club staff and assistance is provided based upon eligibility, individual circumstances, contractor availability, and available program funding.

There is no charge to an approved recipient.

How the Program Works

If you or someone you know needs assistance, contact The Veterans Club and tell us a little about the situation.

Our staff will review the request and determine whether the individual qualifies for assistance.

Once approved, The Veterans Club will coordinate snow removal through a local contractor participating in the program. The Veterans Club pays the contractor directly.

Because snowfall, contractor availability, location, and demand can vary considerably throughout the winter, we cannot guarantee immediate service or service following every snowfall.

If there is an immediate health or safety emergency, please call 911.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

The Veterans Club exists to build stronger connections among veterans, first responders, and the communities around them.

Sometimes that connection happens around a table at Patriot Pour.

Sometimes it happens through a service project.

And sometimes it is as simple as making sure a veteran or senior can safely get out of their driveway after a North Idaho snowstorm.

That is community.

And that is what The Veterans Club is all about.
