What is Veterans Voice?

Veterans Voice is a short-format audio program where candidates for public office, advocates for or against ballot initiatives, and veterans with civic concerns can share their insights. Our goal is to elevate discussions that matter to veterans and first responders.

This program will be freely available through The Veterans Club’s Substack channel and TheVeteransClub.org website. We believe in maximizing accessibility, so instead of paid subscriptions, we rely on the generous support of local sponsorships to fund this initiative. This aligns with our mission to always put the community first.

Episode Format

Each Veterans Voice episode runs for approximately 12–18 minutes and follows a clear structure:

Part 1 – Guest Statement (3–5 minutes)

This is your chance to deliver a timed, unedited statement. This could be your candidate's "elevator pitch," your viewpoint on a specific ballot initiative, or an editorial message on a civic concern important to you as a veteran.

Part 2 – Interview/Q&A (8–12 minutes)

Following your statement, a host from The Veterans Club will lead a short conversation. We’ll ask clarifying or follow-up questions to help expand on your ideas and proposals.

Closing Segment (Optional)

At the end of the episode, there's an optional brief segment for a call-to-action or an announcement of upcoming events and resources relevant to veterans and first responders.

Our Funding Model

Veterans Voice is funded by sponsorships from veteran-friendly businesses and civic-minded organizations. Sponsors receive post-roll acknowledgments in the audio content and recognition in the accompanying Substack posts. All revenue directly supports the outreach, production, and mission of The Veterans Club. We don't charge listeners, ensuring broad access to these important conversations.

If you'd like to become a sponsor, please email us at info@theveteransclub.org.

Guest Rules & Content Standards

As a suicide prevention organization, The Veterans Club is dedicated to fostering positivity, unity, and hope. It’s crucial that Veterans Voice reflects these core values. To ensure this, all guests must adhere to the following rules:

  • No negative campaigning: Any direct reference to "your opponent" will result in the entire episode being deleted without exception.
  • Focus on your ideas and strengths: We are not interested in attacks. Our platform is for sharing your plans and proposals.
  • For ballot initiatives: Comparative reasoning is allowed, but it must be delivered with professional decorum and respect.
  • Editorial Oversight: The Veterans Club Public Policy Committee holds final editorial oversight. If any member of the committee determines an episode violates these standards, it will be deleted without exception.

Our platform exists to inform and inspire, not divide. We believe that happy, hopeful people are less likely to experience suicidal thoughts, and our content and tone must always reflect this fundamental principle.
