Stronger Together: Small Groups, Big Impact
Building Stronger Bonds Beyond the Weekly Meeting
At The Veterans Club, we know that the real magic often happens between the meetings. That’s why we’re making a big push to develop small groups that meet throughout the month—whether it’s mini golf, football parties, ladies nights, hiking, Bible study, or just shooting pool. These smaller gatherings create deeper connections and lasting friendships. As we shared in our blog, Why Seeing a Group of Vets Together Can Change Everything, doing what you love with people who understand you can truly change lives.
Ladies Night Brings Laughter, Music, and Connection

The first-ever Ladies Night at The Veterans Club took place on September 5th at Studio 107 in Riverstone—and it was a hit! A half dozen women gathered to enjoy delicious food, wine, heartfelt conversation, and the incredible vocal talents of our very own Carol Davis. The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and filled with laughter. As Kay shared, “It was great to get together with other ladies and enjoy Carol singing. Looking forward to doing it again soon!” This is just the beginning—more Ladies Night events are already in the works!
Lunch on the Lake—With a Side of Laughter

The USS Veterans Club set sail for Shore Liberty in Harrison, Idaho (a 3-hour tour), captained by none other than Chaplain John McSwain of the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. With calm waters and clear skies, a crew of veterans and first responders enjoyed a relaxing lunch outing on the beautiful waters off Lake Coeur d’Alene. Great food, better company, and unforgettable views made for a perfect afternoon. (And while there were whispers of a whale-watching detour… let’s just say those stories may be slightly embellished.)

Got an Idea? Let’s Build It Together.
The Veterans Club is more than just weekly meetings—it’s a launchpad for connection, purpose, and wellbeing. Our small groups are designed to strengthen relationships, grow membership, and support the overall health of our veteran and first responder community. If there’s an activity you love or a group you’d like to see started, don’t keep it to yourself! Whether it’s hiking, fishing, book club, woodworking, or something totally unique, we’re here to help make it happen. Talk with Ed at a meeting or send him an email info@theveteransclub.org to get the ball rolling.
No Need to Do It All—Just Do What You Love
As The Veterans Club continues to grow, so will the number of small group activities—we’ve got a lot coming your way! But don’t worry, you’re not expected to do everything. These opportunities are meant to give you options, not obligations. Pick and choose the activities that bring you the most joy, and jump in when it feels right. This is your community—make it work for you.
We’re Now on Facebook and Instagram
While we’ve had some reservations about Meta, we recognize the power of social media to reach more veterans and first responders who might benefit from what The Veterans Club offers. That’s why we’ve launched official pages on Facebook and Instagram—to share our programs, events, and stories with a wider audience. If you’re on social media, follow us at facebook.com/theveteransclub.org and on Instagram: @veteranscluborg. Your likes, shares, and comments help spread the mission further than we could on our own.
